Another tough test this weekend for our Oswaldtwistle St Mary’s U13 Girls, facing a top-tier side from last season’s top division. But our girls showed heart, hunger, and heaps of determination from the first whistle to the last.

The first half was a defensive masterclass—solid at the back and full of fight. Despite two quick goals from the opposition, our girls refused to be rattled.

⚽ A brilliant through ball saw Mia break free and coolly slot home to cut the deficit.

⚡ Moments later, a slick pass from Poppie had Mia through again—this time ruled offside.

🎯 A free kick on the edge of the box gave Mia another chance, and her strike thundered off the crossbar.

The second half saw wave after wave of attacking play, with our girls pushing hard. Mia found space outside the area and unleashed a stunning strike to lob the keeper and bring us back into it.

Barrowford’s depth showed late on, with fresh legs making the difference—but our girls never stopped battling.
