📍 The Heys | League Opener
Ossy’s U13s made a confident leap into full-sized, 11-a-side football today with a well-earned 2–0 win over Rosegrove. With four league debutants—Harry Di Francesco, Caleb Smith, Noel Foley, and Toby Taylor—all starting, the Saints showed grit, flair, and togetherness from the first whistle.
🔥 Early pressure saw slick link-up play between Harry Stewart and Aidan McCullough, culminating in Riley Naylor’s header rattling the post. The rebound was smothered by Rosegrove’s keeper, but Ossy weren’t done yet.
🧱 Midfield duo Bradley Baron and Denys Holden held firm against Rosegrove’s advances, and when they did break through, debutant keeper Harry Di Francesco pulled off a stunning save to keep the scores level.
⚔️ Noel Foley’s crunching tackle sparked a counterattack, releasing Alfie Clegg who found Riley Naylor in space—1–0 Ossy!
After the break, Harley Barton set the tone with relentless tackling, while Thomas Taylor’s composure in possession opened up the flank for Toby Taylor to deliver a pinpoint ball into the box. Sean McGonagle was ice-cool with the finish—2–0 Ossy!
💫 Caleb Smith impressed across both wings and full-back, popping up everywhere with purpose and tenacity. More sharp keeping sealed the clean sheet and a perfect start to the season.
